About Me

Hey there!
If you're thinking about partnering with me, you might be wondering about my background.
I started my career off as a freelance reporter for The Philadelphia Tribune. I covered community events and wrote features and news articles. During this time, I realized the power of the written word and how my stories were strong motivators that could turn complacency into perseverance and sorrow into joy. 🥰 Click here to see some of my articles.
Soon, I landed a gig as an editorial assistant for Delaware Investments. When that was over, I headed to grad school at the now defunct Alliance Theological Seminary. As I worked my way through school, I served as an assistant to Alliance University's registrar's office. I completed a variety of tasks from answering phones to auditing files.
My next career move was becoming an adjunct developmental reading and writing professor. I taught at several institutions of higher education including St. Peter's University and Alliance University. As I developed my syllabi and curricula, I focused heavily on my knowledge of culture/intercultural communication and incorporated learning strategies such as Bloom's Taxonomy and Kolb's experiential model. These techniques helped students pass their end of semester exams and move on to college level writing. Click here to see some of my lesson plans.
In my spare time, I continued to use my writing to benefit others. I wrote reference letters to help friends earn job promotions. I wrote recommendation letters to help friends secure government grants. I also wrote poetry and spoken word to encourage people. Leave it to me to write an inspirational rhyme to get you to the top of that mountain or through that desert or valley experience! ❤️
I realized that every word I wrote had a task whether it was to inform, inspire, persuade, or entertain. Every document I wrote made me realize how my words were helping others accomplish their goals and fulfill their dreams.
Next, I volunteered at a fledgling non-profit where I masterminded and spearheaded the non-profit’s first all girls’ and boys’ empowerment conference for young men and women in grades 6 – 12. I wrote the fundraising documents to secure food donation requests from major retailers like Chik-fil-A 🍗, Dunkin Donuts 🍩, Pizza Hut/Domino’s 🍕, and Shop Rite 🏪.
Later on, I started teaching ELA full-time at an inner city school. Since then I've done editorial work for Randstad Risesmart, Indeed.com, TopResume, Nyack College and a host of other companies.
It's clear that my true passion is using my editorial skills to help individuals, non-profits, educational institutions, and businesses accomplish their personal and professional goals.
